Bio

Dominik Orzel is the spawn of a bassist betrayed by his band and a supressed folk singer. Originating from Warsaw, Poland crossing the Atlantic and landing in New York City shaped his sound. Wanting to incorporate his love of European electronica with urban tones on a backdrop of world music, Dominik describes his music as folk music but not in a typical way. "People always think of folk music as acoustic, guitar driven telling personal stories, which is what I like to do, but my folk music is not global, it's universal. I feel connected to the whole universe and many solar systems not just the Earthly plane." A high school drop out, foreign language obsessed, self proclaimed music nerd, yoga practitioner & immigrant who enjoys devouring unlimited amounts of sushi. Dominik cites the color red, the planet Mars, and his astrological sign of Scorpio as major influences in his music. Aggresive, impulsive, sexual, deep yet tongue in cheek are the adjectives that describe his essence. Wanting to bring together catchy beats with poetry woven into it is what inspired Dominik to do music in the first place. Striving to have a double stance in all his songs so you can dance to them carefree or ponder on the meaning of the lyrics if you'd like. Electronic yet genuine - the definition of Dominik Orzel.
